Histoire de Museum of Anthropology at UBC

Museum of Anthropology at UBC was founded in 1947 and moved into Arthur Erickson's building in 1976. Erickson drew on the post-and-beam architecture of Northwest Coast First Nations, and the concrete structure has a glass-walled Great Hall for monumental poles and carvings.

Museum of Anthropology at UBC holds about 50,000 ethnographic objects and about 535,000 archaeological pieces, with a centrepiece of Bill Reid's The Raven and the First Men, a yellow cedar sculpture that appeared on the Canadian twenty-dollar bill from 2004 to 2012.
