Cookies and browser storage

We set no cookies of our own, but two Google services we use do. Google Analytics sets cookies to count visits and see which guides are read. Google AdSense sets cookies to choose and measure the ads you see, and may read them again on later visits. Both sets are Google's rather than ours: you can review or change what Google uses at My Ad Center, or block them in your browser settings — the site works normally without them.

We use your browser's local storage (localStorage) for these items:

These items are strictly functional: they only remember choices you made, and they can't identify you or follow you around the web. That is why Traveliac shows no cookie consent banner: the site sets nothing that needs consent.

Clear the site data for traveliac.com in your browser's settings, or clear all browsing data. In a private or incognito window, it is removed when you close the window. The site keeps working; it just forgets which country you chose and which places you saved.

Our maps are OpenStreetMap maps whose tiles are fetched and stored by traveliac.com, so showing one sets no cookie and contacts no other company. The "Directions in Google Maps" links open Google only if you follow them, under the Google cookie policy.

Our photos come from Wikimedia Commons, but we keep our own copies and serve them from traveliac.com, so no third-party cookie reaches your browser from our pages. Only if a photo is too new to have been stored yet, and our server can't fetch it at that moment, is your browser sent to that photo on Wikimedia Commons, which may set its own cookie under the Wikimedia cookie statement. You can block third-party cookies in your browser without affecting how Traveliac works.

Our fonts are served from traveliac.com itself, so no font service (such as Google Fonts) is contacted.

If we ever add cookies or other storage, we will list them here first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before setting them.
