Cookies and browser storage

Last updated:

Traveliac sets no cookies. It saves one setting in your browser, the country you chose, and that setting never leaves your device.

Cookies

The site does not set any cookies: none for analytics, none for advertising and none for tracking. We don't use tracking pixels or similar technologies either.

What we store in your browser

We use your browser's local storage (localStorage) for a single item:

Name
traveliac-country
What it holds
The country you chose, for example "india"
Why
So the site remembers your choice and you don't have to pick again
Where it lives
Only in your browser, on your device. It is never sent to our server.
How long
Until you clear it

This item is strictly functional: it only remembers a choice you made, and it can't identify you or follow you around the web. That is why Traveliac shows no cookie consent banner: the site sets nothing that needs consent.

How to remove it

Clear the site data for traveliac.com in your browser's settings, or clear all browsing data. In a private or incognito window, it is removed when you close the window. The site keeps working; it just forgets which country you chose.

Photos and fonts

Our photos come from Wikimedia Commons, but we keep our own copies and serve them from traveliac.com, so no third-party cookie reaches your browser from our pages. Only if a photo is too new to have been stored yet, and our server can't fetch it at that moment, is your browser sent to that photo on Wikimedia Commons, which may set its own cookie under the Wikimedia cookie statement. You can block third-party cookies in your browser without affecting how Traveliac works.

The site uses fonts already installed on your device, so no font service (such as Google Fonts) is contacted.

If this changes

If we ever add cookies or other storage, we will list them here first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before setting them.

More information

Our privacy policy explains what else we collect, which is very little. Questions: editorial@traveliac.com.
