À propos de Petronas Twin Towers

Petronas Twin Towers rise 451.9 metres above Kuala Lumpur City Centre and were the world's tallest buildings from 1998 to 2004, a title lost to Taipei 101 but never matched by any other twin towers. Each tower has 88 floors under a skin of stainless steel and glass, and the floor plan follows an eight-pointed star drawn from Islamic geometric patterns. Visitors ride to the Skybridge at levels 41 and 42, a 58.4-metre link about 170 metres above the street, then to the observation deck on level 86 at roughly 370 metres. The visit is a timed, ticketed slot inside a working office complex, and the queue for it is part of the day.

Meilleur moment de la journée : Late afternoon slots that run into dusk. When the observation deck shifts from haze to lit skyline; book the earliest weekday slot to avoid the queue.

Histoire de Petronas Twin Towers

Petronas Twin Towers were designed by the Argentine-American architect César Pelli for the national oil company Petronas, with construction finished in 1996 and the official opening on 31 August 1999. Hazama Corporation built Tower 1 and Samsung C&T built Tower 2, a split that turned the build into a race between Japanese and Korean contractors. The towers stand on 104 concrete piles driven between 60 and 114 metres deep, among the deepest foundations laid for a building at the time.

Petronas Twin Towers use high-strength reinforced concrete rather than a steel frame, a choice tied to local construction skills and to wind resistance. The Skybridge is not rigidly fixed to either tower; it rests on sliding supports so the two shafts can sway independently in wind. The complex has since been overtaken in height by Merdeka 118, also in Kuala Lumpur, but the towers remain the city's defining image and anchor the Suria KLCC shopping centre and the Petronas Philharmonic Hall at their base.

Règles et étiquette à Petronas Twin Towers

Petronas Twin Towers apply airport-style entry rules for ticket holders. All bags pass through a security scanner, and food, drink, chewing gum and smoking are banned throughout the visit under the official terms, as of 2026. Only a limited number of lockers are available for larger bags, so travelling light saves time at the desk.

Petronas Twin Towers tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable, and visitors must be at the entry point 15 minutes before the timeslot or entry can be refused without a refund. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or adult. Management can reschedule or cancel visits without notice, and the tower closes on most Mondays and on Hari Raya days, so a booked slot is worth rechecking the day before.

Conseils pour visiter Petronas Twin Towers

  1. 1

Petronas Twin Towers general-admission tickets cost RM127 for an adult on a weekday, as of 2026, against RM42 for a Malaysian MyKad holder, so book the official e-ticket before arriving; visits within the next 24 hours can only be bought on the online platform. Choose the first weekday slot, or an Evening Experience slot that runs into dusk, and expect a briefing video and a lift group before the Skybridge, which allows only a short stop of roughly 10 minutes.

  2. 2

Petronas Twin Towers look best from KLCC Park at the base, where the fountain lake gives an unobstructed view of both shafts and the towers are floodlit after dark. The Skybridge and the level 86 deck sit at different heights, so photograph from the deck for the skyline and from the park for the towers themselves. Tickets from street touts near the entrance are a risk; buy only from the official site.
