Netherlands ਵਿੱਚ ਘੁੰਮਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ
A low-lying, densely populated kingdom where canals, dikes and cycle lanes shape every city, and where Amsterdam is the constitutional capital while government sits in The Hague.

The Netherlands has a temperate maritime climate: cool, damp winters with daytime highs of a few degrees above freezing, mild summers with highs around 20-24 C, and rain in every month. April to September is the main visiting window, with tulip season at Keukenhof running roughly mid-March to early May (the 2027 season is announced as 18 March to 9 May), and Amsterdam's museums, canals and parks at their busiest from June to August. Most of the country lies at or below sea level, so cities are flat and cycling is the default way to move; cycle lanes are usually surfaced in red asphalt, bicycles often have priority at junctions, and walking or standing in a cycle lane is the commonest tourist mistake. Ring the bell rather than shouting, signal turns, lock both the frame and a wheel, and avoid renting a bicycle for the first time in the busiest city centre. The national rail network, run by NS, links Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam and The Hague every few minutes, and public transport uses contactless bank cards or the OV-chipkaart. Tipping is not required because service is included, and rounding up or adding 5-10 percent for good restaurant service is normal. Accommodation is expensive in 2026: the national VAT rate on accommodation rose from 9 percent to 21 percent on 1 January 2026, and Amsterdam adds a 12.5 percent tourist tax on the room rate (excluding VAT). Amsterdam has said it plans to raise that tax to 16 percent in 2027, but the plan was not confirmed in force at the time of writing.
