عن Beihai Park
Beihai Park charges CNY 10 for entry from 1 April to 31 October and CNY 5 from 1 November to 31 March, as of 2026, and covers 69 hectares, of which 39 hectares are lake. The park is dominated by Jade Island (Qionghua Island), crowned by the 36-metre White Dagoba, a white Tibetan-style stupa that rises above pine and cypress and anchors the skyline north-west of the Forbidden City. The lake is lined with willow, lotus beds and covered walkways, and boats leave from ten piers. Beihai Park is one of the oldest and best-preserved imperial gardens in China and is far quieter than the Forbidden City, which sits a short walk to its east.
أفضل وقت في اليوم: Early morning before 09:00. For the lake and dagoba, or late afternoon in summer when the lotus and the lit dagoba draw an evening crowd.

تاريخ Beihai Park
Beihai Park's history reaches back more than a thousand years: the lake and island were developed as an imperial garden under the Liao and Jin dynasties. Jin emperors built a palace on the island in the 12th century, and Kublai Khan's engineers laid out the Yuan capital Dadu around the lake in the 13th century. The Ming and Qing emperors kept it as a private retreat, and the Qing repeatedly rebuilt and added to it.
The White Dagoba was built in 1651 during the Shunzhi reign, and guides link it to a visit by the Dalai Lama, and the glazed Nine-Dragon Wall, with nine imperial dragons in coloured tile on both faces, dates to 1756. The garden opened to the public in 1925, a year after the last emperor left the Forbidden City. It is one of the older imperial gardens to survive in Beijing, and it remains a working park where Beijing residents dance, sing and fly kites.
القواعد والآداب في Beihai Park
Beihai Park sells separate park and through tickets, so a park-only ticket does not admit visitors to Jade Island's paid sites such as Yong'an Temple and the White Dagoba terrace. Tickets are sold at the park gates, and passports may be requested for concessions. Bags are usually X-rayed at the main gates during busy periods.
Beihai Park boat hire is available from ten piers, with rowboats, pedal boats and electric boats reported at about CNY 100-200 per hour plus a refundable deposit; check prices at the pier, since rates vary. Drones are prohibited, tripods can block narrow paths, and picnicking is limited to designated areas. Stay off the lake edge in winter, when the ice may be thin, and keep off restricted areas marked with barriers or signs.
نصائح لزيارة Beihai Park
- 1
Beihai Park works well as a follow-on from the Forbidden City: leave through the Gate of Divine Prowess, cross Jingshan Park and walk west to the South Gate, about 20 minutes on foot, then cross the marble Yong'an Bridge to Jade Island. Climb the steps to the White Dagoba for the view back toward the Forbidden City rooftops, then descend past Yong'an Temple to the northern shore.
- 2
Beihai Park's north shore has the Nine-Dragon Wall and the covered walkways near the Five Dragon Pavilions, which stay shaded in summer. In July and August the lotus beds bloom, and a lake boat is a pleasant way to escape midday heat. The park is quiet on weekday mornings and packed on public holidays, and the interiors are shut on Monday. Take the North Gate from Beihaibei station if you want to avoid the Forbidden City crowds.
