À propos de Central Region

Central Region is one of the five official planning divisions of Singapore and, because Singapore is a city-state, functions as the country's downtown rather than a separate province. It runs from the colonial civic district and the Singapore River mouth eastward across reclaimed land to Marina Bay, and takes in the ethnic quarters of Chinatown, Little India, and Kampong Glam that were laid out under Stamford Raffles' 1822 Jackson Plan. The terrain is flat and low-lying, almost entirely built up, with the Central Catchment Nature Reserve and the Mandai wildlife precinct forming the one large green interruption to the north.

Because Singapore sits roughly 137 kilometres north of the equator, Central Region has no dry or wet season in the way monsoon Asia does further north; humidity stays above 70 percent year-round and short, heavy afternoon showers can arrive in any month. The two comparatively drier windows fall between February and April and again in July and August, before the November-to-January northeast monsoon brings the heaviest and most frequent rain. Heat is constant rather than seasonal, so early morning and early evening are the workable hours for anything outdoors, whatever the month.

The MRT network's North-South, East-West, Circle, and Downtown lines all converge on Central Region, meaning every site in this build is reachable without a car, and most are within a 10-minute walk of a station exit.
