Kempegowda International Airport sits roughly 35 km north of the centre, while KSR Bengaluru City Junction and the smaller Bengaluru Cantonment station anchor rail arrivals closer to the old city. The Namma Metro's Purple and Green lines now connect several major sights, including Cubbon Park, Vidhana Soudha, and Lalbagh, though outlying attractions like Bannerghatta National Park and the HAL Aerospace Museum still require a car or auto-rickshaw. Visit between October and March, when daytime temperatures stay in the low-to-mid 20s and 30s Celsius and the city's notorious traffic is at its most bearable outside the December wedding-season surge.
